As a twin mom, I am part of an amazing group called the Montgomery County Parents of Multiples. Twice a year they hold a sale of new and gently used items. It is a great way for us sellers (the parents in the club) to take a look at our own house and ORGANIZE for the upcoming season. It is also great incentive for anyone who is pregnant, has a baby or has older kids to get in on inexpensive items all in one place. You can literally organize your entire nursery without spending too much while at the sale. Or if you realize you need another high chair, etc you have a wide variety to choose from!
Here is the information below. I hope to see you there!

Click For Clutter-A new site

My aunt started a new website called Click For Clutter. This site is a professional organizer's dream! What a great idea for getting rid of clutter. She is leaving it up to those people on the Internet to help her make decisions about all the clutter in her life. Everyday she is going to post a new item and everyone who writes in will help her make a decision with what to do with it. I am very excited to watch the progress of her clutter and where it ends up. I think this website will help her tremendously with getting rid of her clutter both mentally and physically.
I am going to help her along the way (she is out in CA) as much as I can. I know that as a professional organizer I can coach someone through the process of decluttering, but that this new site will be motivation for her to actually do it!
Here is the information on her site: Click For Clutter is my New Year’s resolution for 2009–a commitment to clear out the clutter of a lifetime. I’m drowning in clutter and I’m desperate.
So I am sorting through all the stuff I’ve accumulated for decades– from the most mundane items to a mink coat. Every day, I will post something and tell the story behind it. And everyday you can vote. Should I: KEEP IT?TOSS IT?GIVE IT TO YOU! If you want something, write a comment and tell me why. I’ll select someone who asks, and send it for free. This is a public commitment — so I can’t procrastinate. If I don’t do this now, my kids will have to do it later. I need your help to make it happen. So consider this a public service.Keep it simple. And Click for Clutter

New Year's Resolution? Container Store was PACKED!
I was at the Container Store yesterday purchasing items for one of my clients. I don't know if most of you know, but I get a 10% discount on all products that I purchase from the Container Store because I am a professional organizer. So, as a service to my clients, I purchase items that we use in their homes or offices and get them at a discount. While many people had off of work yesterday, I was still in awe of how many people were in the store! The Container Store is my home away from home and never in my life have I seen it so busy. One of the reasons for all the people is that the stores is having their annual 30% off of Elfa sale. It is an amazing sale that everyone should take advantage of if they are planning on using Elfa anywhere in their home. I am BIG fan of Elfa and have actually planned a few spaces with my clients who will be taking part in the huge savings.
But I know that not all the people in the store were there for the Elfa sale. This is of course just an observation but it seemed to me that everyone was there to start 2009 on the right foot..more organized! I saw people buying things for their office, their kitchens, their closets. I even spoke to a woman that was there with her husband and she said that one of her resolutions was to start 2009 more organized than 2008!
So I guess people are getting on the organized train and I would love to help get you there! I think it is one of the most important resolutions you can make for 2009 as it impacts so many areas of your life.

What Being Messay or Neat Says about Political Leanings
My aunt in California posted a great new study on her blog from Scientific American that talks about what being neat or messy says about political leanings. I think it is interesting that a study was actual done on this topic and that according to the study, resesarchers insist that they can tell someone's political affliation by looking at the condidtion of their office and bedrooms. Messy? You're a lefty. A neatnik? Welcome to the right.
This is just fascinating to me because a professional organizer I usually don't get into my client's personal views on politics but I am now going to have to go back and think about whose houses I have been in to see if the study is true!
